Wireless Cities

The overall aim of the project is to improve citizens' quality of life and regional economic development by promoting the use of wireless networks as a tool for information, communication, work, etc. The project involves inter-regional co-operation between six partners to promote the economic development of the regions through the development of new services based on wireless technologies.

Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH

The Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (WRS) was founded in August of 1995 by the Greater Stuttgart Association (Verband Region Stuttgart) to strengthen the position of the Stuttgart region as an economically attractive location in national and international competition. The WRS is a lean organisation with a total of 40 employees. The operating structure of the organisation is defined in accordance with the needs of the Stuttgart Region and has therefore three operational departments: Location Marketing, Regional Development & Promotion of Innovation and Location Procurement. WRS is partner in the Wireless Cities Project.

Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum

SEZ (Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum) is an independent economic entity within the Steinbeis Foundation. It was founded in March 1990 as the operational unit of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economic Affairs. SEZ's core activity is to promote European RTD programmes and to support cross-border technology transfer. SEZ has offices in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe.
